Irish Fiddle Lessons!

 Basic Informantion

Lessons are taught by Liz Scinta. Costs are $15 for a half an hour and $20 for an hour.
What you'll learn:
- Irish/Scottish fiddling songs. This includes reels, jigs, hornpipes, slip jigs, airs and marches.
- Ornaments ie grace notes, triplets etc.
- Bowing techniques
- Basic music theory
- Ear training
- I will teach competition songs to anyone that would like to take part in feis competitions.
- Playing in a group setting with other instruments

If you are looking to learn how to play violin and just learn the basics, I will teach for the same price. Please let me know before hand though.

 Requirements

- Must have own violin. I do not rent mine out, but I can give you places where you can buy/rent one for a reasonable place.
- Must have at least 1 yr playing experience.
- Must be able to read sheet music
- Will show up and practice!!! Please don't waste my time if you're not going to take this seriously

Liz's Background

- Have played fiddle for 15 years
- Played in orchestra/octet setting for 9 years
- Have won numerous awards for classical violin at NYSMA and Erie County Solo Fest all placing 'Excellent'
- Have won numerous awards for Irish fiddle contests around Western NY including:
Lockport Feis - 3 1st place
Rochester Feis - 2 1st place; 1 2nd place
Buffalo Feis - 2 2nd place
Syracuse Feis - 1 2nd place

-Member of Celtic band The Dustmen for the past 6 years

 -Did studio work for several Celtic bands in Western NY
- Took 3 college level music theory classes placing 4.5 on all exams
